Ozzfest is official back for 2027.
Earlier this year, Sharon Osbourne revealed in an interview that the classic metal fest she co-founded with late husband and metal icon Ozzy Osbourne might be making a return in 2027. Today (August 17th), it was confirmed that Ozzfest will be staged at Villa Park — the same Birmingham, UK, venue that hosed Black Sabbath’s “Back to the Beginning” farewell performance in 2025.
An Instagram post from the Ozzfest’s official account didn’t offer many details beyond this, including the dates or who may be performing, but they confirmed that Villa Park will be the location for Ozzfest’s comeback. The post pictured an aerial view of the venue, and reiterated in the pic that the fest will “return in 2027 at Villa Park.” More info is apparently coming soon.
As previously reported, Ozzfest launched in 1996 as two one-day events before becoming a full-blown tour the following year. It ran annually from 1996 to 2008, and then continued off-and-on until 2018.
Sharon Osbourne had told Billboard that bringing back Ozzfest would be a tribute to Ozzy, his passion for music, and his love of seeing up-and-coming bands make a splash on a big stage.
“It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people,” she said. “We really started metal festivals in this country. It was [replicated but] never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”
