It’s been teased for years, but the end of Ministry is almost here. Today (July 24th), band leader Al Jourgensen confirmed the impending arrival of the industrial-metal legends’ final album, Hate to Go (Take Out or Delivery). They’ll be supporting their 17th studio LP with tour dates in 2027.
A press release dubs the occasion the “end of the industrial era,” and notes that Jourgensen will use his time on the 10-song outing to add a few conclusive thoughts around “the state of the world, those in charge and how we should all collectively move forward.” After this, he’s calling it quits.
“I’m fucking done,” he says in a statement. “I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished. I’m amazed at the path that it’s taken, from [1983’s] With Sympathy to where we’re at today, and all points in between. It’s been quite a ride, but I’m completely at peace with the fact that it’s done. It’s time to herd goats.”
As previously reported, Jourgensen reconnected with classic era bassist/keyboardist/programmer/producer Paul Barker in 2024 to work on new music. Together, the old friends came up with Hate to Go (Take Out or Delivery)’s final track, “We’re Still Here” — a somewhat curious title, considering it’s set to close Ministry’s iconic discography.
Other collaborators on the album include guitarists Monte Pittman and Cesar Soto, former TOOL bassist Paul D’ Amour, sampler/synth player John Bechdel and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña.
To celebrate today’s album announcement, Ministry have delivered Hate to Go’s first synth-pulsating single, “Burned Out.” The song throbs with heavy-artillery rock beats, thunderous riffs and gang vocals. Jourgensen reports on the “batshit crazy” state of the world, and supports his point by sampling an onslaught of TV news headlines concerning various global conflicts, climate change, social deviancy and more.
A video, directed by former Revolting Cocks member Joshua Bradford, has Jourgensen navigating his spaceship through various mindbending global scenes. You can check it out up above.
Hate to Go (Take Out or Delivery) is out October 30th via Cleopatra. It can be pre-ordered here.
Ministry have a handful of U.S. fest appearances on deck for the rest of 2026. Next spring, they launch a global farewell tour in Europe, with those dates eeing them supported by Die Krupps.
Details on a U.S. headline tour are expected sometime soon.
