Marilyn Manson shocked the masses last night (April 22nd) and brought out a new lead guitarist for his spring tour opener at Highland, California’s Yaamava’ Resort & Casino.
The 17-song set was full of familiar hits, from “The Beautiful People” and “mOBSCENE” up into more recent cuts like “As Sick as the Secrets Within” and “Nod If You Understand” off 2024’s One Assassination Under God – Chapter One. They also dug deep to deliver The Golden Age of Grotesque’s “(s)AINT” for the first time since 2005, and also brought “Dried Up, Tied Up and Dead to the World” back to the stage after an eight-year absence from the set list.
What was new, however, was that lead guitar duties are now being handled by Nick Annis, a music vet who has backed up the likes of Dorothy, Kesha and more. Code Orange guitarist and solo artist Reba Meyers had been holding down the position for the past couple of years, but recently flagged that she would be the opening act on the upcoming reunion run from Greg Puciato’s the Black Queen project.
The night likewise reintroduced bassist Tim Skold to the line-up. Skold had initially played with Manson’s band between 2002 and 2008, first lending a hand on guitar before switching to the four-string. Skold’s reintroduction also means that longtime member Piggy D. has switched from bass to co-lead guitar duties with Annis.

Manson’s headline tour continues tonight (April 23rd) with another show at the Yaamava’ Theater, and he hits Las Vegas, Nevada’s Sick New World fest over the weekend. He also has his co-headline tour with Rob Zombie coming up in the summer, and will be toasting Antichrist Superstar with some 30th anniversary shows in the fall.
