Less than three weeks out from Ozzy Osbourne’s final show with Black Sabbath, beverage company Liquid Death is presenting fans with a business opportunity to keep Ozzy’s voice flying high for years to come — by cloning the metal singer using spit collected in cans of their iced tea.
A new promotional, semi-satirical video from Ozzy and the drink-makers begins by noting “there will never be another Ozzy Osbourne… unless you have his actual DNA.” It’s then explained that the Ozzman dranketh 10 cans of Liquid Death’s Vitamin B-infused Iced Tea, and now each one of these crushed aluminum artifacts features “trace amounts” of Osbourne’s precious DNA — i.e. his saliva.
“Once technology and federal law permit, fans can use this DNA to try to clone Ozzy in the future and enjoy him for hundreds of years to come,” Liquid Death reps posit to the fanbase.
Each can has been sealed and has been authenticated with the metal icon’s signature. You can purchase one of the limited-edition recyclable cans for $450 USD.
Should you choose to clone the heavy-metal godfather in the future, Liquid Death suggest you can have him mow your lawn, sing for your kids, and other assorted — and unsavory — household chores.
Osbourne, meanwhile, is all-in on the idea of having a bunch of other Ozzys running around in the wild. He submitted the following challenge in a statement: “Clone me, you bastards.”
You can see the goofball infomercial up above, while you can order Ozzy’s spit over here.
As previously reported, the Prince of Darkness will take the stage with Black Sabbath July 5th at Birmingham, UK’s Villa Park for their “Back to the Beginning” concert. He’ll be hitting select songs with his old bandmates and is likewise expected to perform material from his solo catalog.
The concert will also feature appearances from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, TOOL, Gojira, Lamb of God, Mastodon and Guns N’ Roses, plus a one-time supergroup including members of Korn, Ghost, Smashing Pumpkins, Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, Sleep Token and more.
