After teasing the film earlier this year, Linkin Park has confirmed the theatrical release timeline for their forthcoming UNSHATTER documentary.
The film, directed by bandmember/DJ Joe Hahn, will be hitting theaters worldwide September 30th. It’s a documentary chronicling the past few years of Linkin Park, the band explaining in an Instagram post today (August 4th) that it reflects their “journey through loss, resilience and creative reinvention.”
Mixing behind-the-scenes footage with concert performances, the film is set to trace the path from Linkin Park’s 2022 studio sessions with then newly-instated vocalist Emily Armstrong up to their sold-out FROM ZERO album release show in São Paulo, Brazil. UNSHATTER’s title, of course, shares its name with a single from the 2024 comeback album.
“UNSHATTER follows a very particular moment in Linkin Park’s history and documents a path through loss, uncertainty, friendship, and reinvention,” Hahn adds in a statement.
“I hope longtime fans see parts of our journey they’ve never seen before, and I hope people who are just discovering our music come away with a better understanding of how we got here. But even beyond Linkin Park, I hope people connect with it as a story about relationships, resilience, and what it really takes to move forward when you don’t have all the answers.”
Linkin Park began teasing the film in early June, with t-shirts they’d sold at European festival appearances featuring unshattermovie.com branding printed on the inside. They confirmed right around the time that UNSHATTER would be hitting theaters soon.
The limited release behind UNSHATTER begins September 30th. Tickets for those screenings begin August 13th. You’ll find more info here.
