In the latest in a series of Lemmy Forever ceremonies, a portion of the Motörhead icon’s ashes will find a permanent resting spot at one of his favorite places to kick back: Stringfellows Gentleman’s Club in London.
Owned by Peter Stringfellow — who in the 1960s booked bands such as the Beatles, the Who and Pink Floyd — the club became a hot spot for celebs and rock stars, including Lemmy Kilmister, who was regular whenever he was in town.
“Stringfellows always held a special place in Lemmy’s heart,” Motörhead’s manager Todd Singerman commented. “He loved the rock & roll spirit Peter brought to the club, he loved the relaxed environment, and he certainly loved the view. I know he’s relieved he can get back to enjoying one of his favorite places on the planet!”
The Stringfellow Lemmy Forever ceremony is set to go down December 18th, when a miniature replica of Kilmister’s custom urn containing a portion of his ashes will be placed at the club. Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell will be in attendance to say a few words and situate his dear friend and longtime band member’s remains there.
The celebration begins at 7pm and will go until 9 p.m.
