Jinjer‘s upcoming album, Duél, is their most ambitious yet. Thematically, it’s lifted right from vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk’s daydreams, with most of the songs set in the 1830s, with a blood-dripping extravaganza of masquerades, balls and high-society soirées. Sonically, the band — rounded out by guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov, bassist Eugene Abdukhanov and drummer Vladislav Ulasevich — take 19th century symphonic music and channel it through their premier, hypercharged djent sound.
Ahead of the album, the Ukrainian metal juggernaut stars on two collectible covers of Revolver’s Winter 2024 issue. The magazine also comes in a deluxe collector’s bundle including a hand-numbered slipcase and an 8”x10” photo print autographed by Shmayluk, who gives one of her most personal and revealing interviews to date in the cover story.
