Michigan-made electronicore veterans I See Stars are finally coming ‘round the bend with their first full-length release in nearly a decade: THE WHEEL. Along with the formal announcement of their next long-player, the band have also just unveiled a visualizer for their latest single, “Eliminator.”
The song follows a series of singles that I See Stars had released since 2023, and are now confirmed to be on the 14-song THE WHEEL. With “Eliminator,” the act offer up speaker-blown mosh rhythms, tea-kettling synth ambiance and deep, crunchily distorted melodies.
Vocalist Devin Oliver rides the sinewave with high-toned, plaintive melodicism as he sings of struggle and determination (“All that pain gave a voice to me”). A psychedelic visualizer draws you in hypnotically via thematically apropos digital pinwheel imagery, pixelated eyeballs and select lyrical highlights (“All I hear is noise”).
“THE WHEEL is a time capsule capturing the past seven years of our lives,” the band shared in a statement of the project, writ-large, “It’s a culmination of everything we’ve experienced individually, together, and as human beings navigating the chaos of the world.
“While we don’t plan to wait this long before releasing another album, we’re deeply grateful for the time it took to make this one. We poured ourselves into it, and we hope our fans feel that. We’re proud to finally share THE WHEEL with you.”
THE WHEEL is out September 12th via longtime label Sumerian Records. Exclusive vinyl copies on Black Ice-and-White Moon Phase with Black Splatter, limited to 100 copies, are already up for pre-order in Revolver’s shop.
