If you love Higher Power, we’ve got some great news for you — the UK alt-hardcore faction are officially back in a big way. Today (June 27th), and with very little warning, the band surprise-released their brand-new album, There’s Love in This World if You Want It.
Higher Power had briefly teased the arrival of their third full-length on Instagram earlier in the week, vis-à-vis a candid, behind-the-scenes video of the band working on new tunes in the studio alongside a yippy lil’ chihuahua.
Now, their There’s Love in This World if You Want It — which follows 2020’s Revolver-favorited 27 Miles Underwater —is officially on streamers via Nuclear Blast, while the album arrives on LP and CD September 19th.
The record includes the band’s 2024 single “Absolute Bloom,” and is now being promoted via a dreamily chunked-up post-hardcore anthem called “All the Rage.” You can check out the latter’s assemblage of Quicksand-like grooves, stacked-fifth guitar chord sweetness and more via the music video up above.
As for There’s Love in This World if You Want It as a whole, the self-produced album is said to be themed around the idea of “inner peace,” while the sound of the nine-song release apparently encompasses “the genre-splicing experimentation that inspired [Higher Power] to create together in the first place.”
“This album is the natural progression of Higher Power sonically and as a band,” vocalist Jimmy Wizard commented. “This is our first time consciously self producing an album and I am, for once, genuinely excited to put something out that feels really authentic to us as individuals and where we are at as a band.”
