Teenage crossover firebrands XCOMM have another pair of heaters for ya. After flashing us their “Fake ID” in January, the rising L.A. quintet have now served up a scorching follow-up two-fer music video for their songs “Hot Pursuit” and “One and Nothing.”
A combo clip for the tunes dropped today (February 27th), and first finds the band launching into a scrappy, speed-forward hardcore rhythm whilst guitarist-vocalist Michael Gatto screams through lines about XCOMM “coming for your life”. He snaps over unknown shit-talkers, and matches the squirrely guitar solos and fast-whapped thrash hits with FAFO energy.
“’Hot Pursuit’ is about everyday frustrations and the way we put energy and purpose to combat those frustrations,” Gatto clarified in a statement, adding of the song’s origins, “I remember this one was written at our second ever rehearsal.”
The second half of their music video medley features “One and Nothing,” a more medium-paced rocker, which Gatto gives a touch of raspy melody in the chorus. He added that this one is “about moments of clarity and realizations that you do have control over your surroundings and the way things play out.”
The video, which merges performance footage with dramatized interrogation scenes and an icy expedition, can be seen up above.
XCOMM’s debut album is expected to arrive in 2026, though the full details have yet to be revealed. In the meantime, the young band have lined up a few concert dates, including east and west coast stops at the Warped Tour. You’ll find the info below.
