Like a blood-thirsty gator ready to snap, Florida-formed metalcore makers Wage War are on the attack with a brand new battle anthem. From the Everglades to your ear canals, they call this nasty beater their “SONG OF THE SWAMP.”
The new single marks Wage War’s first new music since their STIGMA cycle in 2024, and it will soon be a part of a new EP titled It Calls Me by Name.
The track comes caged within a boggy, swamp-set video. It sometimes finds Wage War rockin the hard-battering tune from atop a floating dock, while other times vocalist Briton Bond is jawing out his lines within the soggy surrounding foliage of the Sunshine State.
Full of spine-compressing rhythms, jagged guitar menace and fierce-and-feral howls, Wage War describe “SONG OF THE SWAMP” as the “tone-setter” for a gnarly new EP. They add: “Driven by Florida and the raw aggression of nature, it’s a heavy track built on tension and hostility.”
They further note that the forthcoming It Calls Me by Name includes “five tracks shaped by Florida.” Reportedly boasting hooks and heaviness, it’s said to find Wage War’s “signature sound amplified and pushed further into metal than [they’ve] ever taken it.”
