Metalcore supergroup Better Lovers have announced that they’ve split from founding frontman Greg Puciato, and are on the hunt for a new vocalist.
The remaining members of the band — guitarist Jordan Buckley, bassist “Mitch” Micciche, drummer Clayton “Goose” Holyoak and Fit for an Autopsy guitarist Will Putney — confirmed the parting today (February 24th) over socials, noting that they’re “proud of the work [they’d] done together” with Puciato, but are “moving in another direction.”
“To all of our fans, thank you for riding with us these past few years. We’ve accomplished so much in such a short time with your support and we’re still beyond excited to continue down this road with you,” they continued. “The four of us are finishing writing a new album which we are extremely proud of and [are] currently looking for a new singer.”
Better Lovers formed in 2023, uniting former Every Time I Die members Buckley, Micciche and Holyoak with Putney and former Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Puciato. Together, they released the God Made Me an Animal EP in 2023, the 2024 full-length Highly Irresponsible and a deluxe edition of that LP in 2025 that added a handful of singles and bonus tracks.
The band had likewise toured the globe, most recently capping an Australian tour together in January.
Puciato has yet to make an announcement of his own regarding his departure from Better Lovers. He did, however, recently announce a reunion tour from his electronic-geared Black Queen project, which begins in May.
UPDATE: Puciato hopped into his Instagram stories shortly after Better Lovers’ announcement to quash any rumors around his departure, explaining: “No bad blood. Everyone’s cool. Don’t speculate.”
“Love these people, and love the band,” he continued. “Rooting for them all collectively and individually. Thanks to everyone for making the last few years special. Long live the frog.”
