If you’ve been waiting for Rochester, New York, OSDM devotees Undeath to drop new music for a while, things are about to get crazy. You might even say things are going to get More Insane, for that’s the title of the band’s next album, and they’ve just unveiled its maniacal first single, “Brandish the Blade.”
Undeath’s next album is due October 4th via Prosthetic Records, and per the quintet, the follow-up to 2022’s much-loved It’s Time…To Rise From The Grave is apparently “the biggest, baddest, nastiest Undeath record yet by every conceivable metric.”
“It’s a fucking sick death-metal record for sick death-metal freaks and anyone out there who can appreciate the transcendent power of a good riff played fast on distorted electric guitars,” the band said in a statement, adding that it’s a “no bullshit” album made by “five guys who shower just irregularly enough to invoke the spirits of the death-metal ancient ones.”
On a nuts-and-bolts level, Undeath’s third album was tracked with producer Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, the Black Dahlia Murder) at his Mark Lewis Audio facility in Nashville, Tennessee. The 10-song release is further described as “pure, unyielding death brought to horrifying reality by a kickass production.”
Thematically, the songs on More Insane are said to entail “demonic bounty hunters, homicide, perverse experiments gone horribly awry, dead people screaming and crying tears of blood.” Heavy-trilled, mega-blasted and shiv-sticking first single “Brandish the Blade” concerns an army of the undead “moving from battlefield to battlefield and annihilating anything and anyone who gets in their way.”

Beyond this, Undeath are apparently also announcing tour dates later this week, with the full details to come tomorrow (July 31st).
