Hear TYPE O NEGATIVE and CROWBAR supergroup SUN DONT SHINE’s gloomy new song “Coming Down”

Sun Dont Shine — the sludge supergroup comprising members of Crowbar, Down, Type O Negative and more — have arisen with a new single. Just ahead of a new four-song vinyl EP, they’ve delivered the melancholy-gripped title track, “Coming Down.”

“Coming Down” is Sun Dont Shine’s first single since last January’s “The Promise Song.” At the time, the band had just rebranded as Sun Don’t Shine, following a few single releases as  EYE AM.

This time around, the group gel into a gloom-grunge sludginess marked by sorrowful vocal melodies and a back-to-back solo section full of bittersweet, bluesy bends. This all comes complemented by a psychedelic music video, which you can see up above.

As previously reported, Sun Dont Shine comprises Down and Crowbar members Kirk Windstein and Todd Strange, as well as Johnny Kelly and Kenny Hickey of Type O Negative and Silvertomb. Hickey had noted earlier that he doesn’t want Sun Dont Shine to sound “one-dimensional,” having added in a statement that he wants the act to be “both light and dark, dynamic and unpredictable.”

A pre-order for Sun Dont Shine’s four-song Coming Down EP on splatter translucent vinyl, limited to 100 copies, is up now over here, and will be out in July via Corpse Paint Records. The band had previously sold out a limited edition 7-inch pressing of “The Promise Song.”
