Modern nu-metal dominators Tetrarch are back with their first single in three years. The Georgia-made, California-based quartet’s latest track for Napalm Records is titled “Live Not Fantasize”
The song, which was premiered yesterday (September 18th) through SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal with Jose “Metal Ambassador” Mangin, hammers hard into a positively booming nu-dustrial dance beat, detuned guitar darkness and Josh Fore’s inner-thoughts-exploring, scratchy-throated vocals.
As for the just-released video, which you can see up above, it finds a metal fan sucked from the safety of his bedroom into some kind of deep web wonderworld in which Tetrarch apparently reside. There, the guy comes across caged go-go dancers, a bathtub banquet of insects, and Tetrarch themselves. Then, guitar phenom Diamond Rowe rip-snorts into an epic solo of double-handed tap theatrics, digi-whammed note-bending and tasteful harmonics.
“We are extremely excited to release ‘Live Not Fantasize’ to the world,” she said in a statement. “We had a lot of fun writing this song because of how heavy and aggressive it is, while still having a big catchy chorus that gets stuck in your head. This song is about never letting the negative feelings and thoughts in your mind define who you are and doing everything you can to get through tough times to find peace within yourself — so that you can live instead of dreaming of something better.”
It’s as yet unclear when Tetrarch will properly follow-up their 2021 full-length Unstable, but a press release teased that “more major news is coming soon.”
