Oh, what a rush — masked alt-metal phenoms PRESIDENT have just launched the second chapter of their latest phase. Their newest boomed-and-grooved number arrives under the title of “Mercy.”
PRESIDENT’s second new song of 2026 follows last month’s “ANGEL WINGS,” and it soars through the speakers with layered, arpeggiated synth ambiance and an infectiously low-slung, at times Deftones-ish groove.
Throughout, the PRESIDENT lunges into self-flagellating songbirding (“I’m a parasite, just let my teeth sink in”), lays out scenarios where he’s either symbolically washing his face in one’s milk or drowning in the blood of an empire, and he gets in a few raspy screams, too.
“Throughout history, religion has been tied to profound division and loss,” the Prez offers of the lyrical themes in a press statement. “This song is a reflection on that reality, and a way for me to come to terms with what it means on a human level.”

The U.K. outfit recently wrapped up a leg of North American tour dates with Bad Omens and Beartooth. News on more “live rallies” are expected soon.
