Masked UK alt-metal force PRESIDENT have officially kicked off the 2026 campaign trail, having just delivered their first song of the young year: “ANGEL WINGS.”
The song marks PRESIDENT’s first piece of music since delivering last year’s debut EP, King of Terrors. It’s likewise the group’s debut single for new label Atlantic Records.
The single finds the act refining their mix of modern metal, pop and electronic music, contorting itself from twitchy programmed beats towards a cavernously djenting boom. Above all that, the rubber-masked PRESIDENT spins himself in circles while contemplating the past and crooning about fading memories (“Keep thinking I see your face, and then the shape retracts”).
A music video finds someone spying on the PRESIDENT through a keyhole, as the group’s leader grins, grimaces and thrusts himself into a performance. A gang of silk-stocking-masked bandmates bang out the tune from inside empty, opulent ballrooms and whilst bashing drum kits outside of stony mausoleums. The titular winged entity appears, as well.
“‘ANGEL WINGS’ reflects a search for spiritual redemption and the resolve to begin again,” PRESIDENT’s frontman explained of the song’s origins. “It marks the opening of a new chapter. At its core, the song speaks to holding close those who matter most, while remaining unmoved by detractors.”
“ANGEL WINGS” is on streamers now, and will soon appear on a one-sided 12-inch vinyl single. The B-side features an etching of PRESIDENT’s Patriarchal cross logo, and the record will come housed in a custom matte die-cut, black-flooded jacket with spot-gloss coating. As previously reported, PRESIDENT are the opening act on Bad Omens’ forthcoming “DO YOU FEEL LOVE” North American tour, which starts this weekend. The trip follows PRESIDENT’s late-2025 appearances in New York and Los Angeles, and marks the rising band’s first full-length US tour.
