Foo Fighters have come out to play, and they’ve brought their “Favorite Toy” with them.
Late last month, Dave Grohl let it slip on-stage that his long-running alt-rock force were all set to drop a new album in 2026. Today (February 19th), the band confirmed that their 12th studio full-length is called Your Favorite Toy — and so is its hard-rocking first single, which is both on streamers now and packaged in a lyric vid.
The track is a pulse-quickening, tension-driven piece where punky guitar stabs, dancey drum beats and synth-slicked accentuations underscore Grohl’s tunefully raspy reporting on bad seeds, fixin’ on candy and dopamine, and trying to keep your glasses clean.
“‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album,” Grohl noted in a statement. “We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”

Foo Fighters’ Your Favorite Toy will be released April 24th via Roswell Records/RCA Records. The album was co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, and also features last summer’s “Asking for a Friend” single. That’d be the tracklisting and cover art down below.
As previously reported, Foo Fighters are heading out on a North American arena run that will team them up with longtime pals Queens of the Stone Age. Jehnny Beth, Mannequin Pussy and Gouge Away will be supporting on select dates.
