Paramore’s Hayley Williams has entered the Failure-verse. The famed pop-and-rock singer has been a fan, friend and vocal supporter of the L.A. alt-rock trio for years, and has now synced up with the group to sing on their latest Location Lost single, “The Rising Skyline.”
A press release describes that track, which follows earlier Location Lost reveals “The Air’s on Fire” and “A Way Down,” as a “largely acoustic breakup song.” The band’s Ken Andrews handles verse one above lithe unplugged picking, while Williams offers a soft-sung second verse. Then for the finale, the pair entwine while portaling through the ebon spacescape of textured guitar moodiness and elevated drum work.

Williams had covered Failure’s 1996 single “Stuck on You” with Paramore back in the early aughts, and then performed “Daylight” with Failure vocalist-guitarist Ken Andrews at an L.A. wildfires benefit concert in 2025. She also features in the band’s recent Every Time You Lose Your Mind documentary.
“Failure doesn’t do a lot of collaborations, but my friendship with Hayley, and her long-standing support of the band, turned this song into a very satisfying duet,” Andrews commented. “It’s probably the most delicate song we’ve ever done and her vocal approach really brought that out.”
As previously reported, Location Lost is out April 24th under a partnership between Failure Records/Arduous Records/Virgin Music Group. You can still pre-order an exclusive pressing on “Opaque Silver Metallic”-colored vinyl (limited to 500) in Revolver’s shop.
Failure perform a record release show tonight (April 21st) at the Zebulon in Los Angeles, California, ahead of launching their spring tour. They’ve also just announced a fresh batch of fall North American dates that kick off at the end of September. You’ll find all of the date details below.
