Full-time hog-handler Bilmuri recently reached out to the world in search of a sick-ass solo to slap onto a song from his upcoming KINDA HARD. While many accepted the challenge, the one who cranked it hardest was Novelists ripper Florestan Durand, who has officially entered the Muri-verse with his guest solo on “WHERE TO FIND ME.”
A new Instagram post has Bilmuri leader Johnny Franck explaining how French guitarist Durand ended up on the track — which once again mixes pop earworm vocal hooks and a country lean with thick-and-meaty metal chugging.
“Bilmuri has always been a guitar band,” Franck relayed. “If you look at our Spotify bio, it says we ‘seek to strive in optimal levels of dank riffage,’ and that has not changed at all.
“The song ‘WHERE TO FIND ME,’ I could not come up with a sick-ass riff, so I just threw it up into the universe and the guitar community came through huge and sent about a million solos to me.”
To prove the point, Franck’s IG carousel also features tasty solo attempts from Intervals’ Aaron Marshall, plus guitarists Sam Jacobs, Connor Kaminski, Shane Trainor and more.
You can peep the new, Novelists-assisted tune via the lyric vid up above, which features Franck walking farm grounds with his hairy KINDA HARD cover star. You can check out the alternate solos through the IG post down below.
As previously reported, KINDA HARD sees release April 4th via Columbia Records. You can still pre-order the album on clear vinyl and on CD in Revolver’s Shop.
Bilmuri will be touring throughout the spring, summer and fall. His next round of North American shows begins April 17th at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado. You’ll find the rest of the date info here.
