After teaming up with King Diamond in 2024 as a touring musician and backing vocalist, Amalie Bruun has now reached out to deliver new music from her long-running Myrkur project. Her latest song, mixing symphonic flourishes with metallically crunching dramaticism, is called “Touch My Love and Die.”
The single, the Danish musician’s first Myrkur release since 2023 full-length Spine, will soon be performed as part of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix song competition, with her entry flexing elements of folk, metal and more. Recorded in Winter 2025 with Christopher Juul (Heilung), and commissioned by Danish broadcaster DR, it finds Bruun joined on the track by a cellist and a choir.
A press release explains that Bruun poured her “heart, soul, blood, and tears” into the tune. The piece is reflective of Nordic mythology and “human vulnerability,” while Bruun sings of life within “a velvet tomb” and a never-ending “dance with madness.”

Myrkur will perform the song live on February 14th during the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix ceremony at Frederikshavn, Denmark’s Arena Nord. If “Touch My Love and Die” is crowned the winner that night, the song will advance to the annual Eurovision song competition, where it will represent Denmark.
