Eternal OSBM devotees WORM have invited a guitar god into their Necropalace.
“Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade,” the “Necromantic Black Doom” band’s third single behind their impending Necropalace LP, finds the rising act joined by legendarily virtuosic former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman.
The track dramatically cascades itself through several movements, from eerily swung gothic heaviness, towards chaotically trilling black-metal, to icicle-thawing gloom. Vocalist Phantom Slaughter’s echo-crested cries detail some kind of nocturnal bloodlust.
The 14-minute epic, which features both Friedman and in-house shredder Wroth Septentrion, also features plenty of baroque, fretboard-obliterating tastiness — there’s a nearly three-minute, back-to-back-to-back-to-back run of solos starting around the nine-minute mark. The bars get bent, and the skies and get scorched.

As previously reported, WORM’s Necropalace is out February 13th via Century Media. The album was produced by Charlie Koryn (Morbid Angel), mixed and mastered by Arthur Rizk (King Diamond, Blood Incantation), and had been previewed recently via the “Necropalace” and “Blackheart” singles.
