Earlier this month, post-hardcore supergroup L.S. Dunes marked the “official opening” of their “chapter two” by unveiling their “Fatal Deluxe” single. Now, the My Chemical Romance, Coheed and Cambria, and Thursday-adjacent outfit have revealed the full plans behind their next volume, Violet, and a new video for the record’s “Machines.”
Directed by David Brodsky and the band’s Frank Iero (also of MCR), the vid for “Machines” takes on the look and feel of a Seventies-era talk show, where a Carson stand-in starts talking up a supergroup set to perform on the program. That causes some eyerolls from the other guests, but then L.S. Dunes lean into a bass-crunched melodic groove above which vocalist Anthony Green (also of Circa Survive) soars out a few lines about the mania of love.

As previously reported, L.S. Dunes comprises Green, guitarists Iero and Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria), and Thursday’s rhythm section (drummer Tucker Rule and bassist Tim Payne). The band’s debut album, Past Lives, came out in 2022.
L.S. Dune’s sophomore follow-up, Violet, is now set to launch January 31st via Fantasy Records. The 10-song release was produced by Will Yip, and likewise features the aforementioned “Fatal Deluxe.” A vinyl variant on “New Twilight”-colored vinyl, limited to 500 copies, is available now in Revolver’s shop.
“Violet is a sonic journey into the depths of every band member of L.S. Dunes,” Stever said in a statement. “The collaborative efforts to bring each song to a full potential came naturally. It’s the album that has always lived in us individually but could only be made together. It has melodies that have lived within me since I was a child. It was only with this band I would be able to find a place where they could find a home in song.”
