It’s time to feast your eyes on a new collaborative project from French industrial-punk experimenter Jehhny Beth and the mighty Mike Patton, which has been given the fittingly voyeuristic title of “Look at Me.”
Their collab had been teased across socials ahead of landing on streamers today (March 6th). The song begins with darkly bouncing synth pulses supporting Patton’s lines about bedbugs looking to feast, and “shiny treats for the grave-robbers to eat.”
Beth puts on a commanding, distorted pseudo-rap once a cavernous beat kicks in, while the song is also squirreling through primal screams and an eerie back-half chant.
The expressive video has Beth and Patton making some kind of a symbiotic, screen-based connection, but likewise features beachside flashings, slappy dance routines, the sight of Beth spying on her own funeral, a bride getting tackled at the wedding party, move theater trysts and more. Beth also wears some hair-raising, Patton-esque braids by the end of the video.
