Marilyn Manson has revealed another new song as part of his current comeback campaign. The latest single from the controversial shock rocker is called “Raise the Red Flag.”
The track is Manson’s second piece of music to be issued through Nuclear Blast Records, and follows the “As Sick as the Secrets Within” single and video that arrived earlier this month, which marked the musician’s first release since 2020 full-length We Are Chaos. In contrast to the brood-rocking “As Sick as the Secrets Within,” “Raise the Red Flag” leans into a more industrialized, dancefloor-ready vibe, with distorted vocals and a churning beat throughout.
“It’s time to beat up the bullies/And wash the bullseye off my back,” Mason sings in the pointed chorus. “My red flag is your white one soaked in blood.”
Manson has yet to perform “Raise the Red Flag” live, but “As Sick as the Secrets Within” received its onstage debut shortly after the song hit digital streaming platforms. Manson and his current band — which includes recent additions Code Orange guitarist Reba Meyers and former Rob Zombie bassist Piggy D — opens for Five Finger Death Punch tonight (August 16th) at Noblesville, Indiana’s Ruoff Music Center.
Manson’s comeback follows accusations of sexual abuse from numerous women, allegations that he has publicly denied. The singer has nevertheless been embroiled in numerous court battles over the claims, with many of those cases having been since settled or dismissed.
