While Kerry King’s guitar tone has been body-slamming us into submission for decades, the thrash icon officially entered the wrestling world this week while adding some riffs to WWE performer Damian Priest’s entrance theme.
A remix of Priest’s “Rise for the Night” premiered on Monday Night RAW earlier this week (November 11th), with the announcing team noting during the broadcast that they wanted “to give special thanks to Kerry King, the guitarist for Slayer” for contributing to the the track. Later, Priest took to Instagram to shout out the metal legend for “adding some of his genius to my theme.”
Priest’s chunkily detuned ring music had popped up earlier in the spring as performed by def rebel, and is currently streaming online. The Kerry King-adorned remix of “Rise for the Night” will arrive on streamers in-full sometime in the future, but for the moment you can hear snippets of the Slayer/sports entertainment crossover down below.
