Jerry Cantrell‘s latest solo effort, I Want Blood, is due next week, and today (October 11th), the Alice in Chains vocalist-guitarist heralded its imminent arrival by premiering the album’s title track.
The latest single — which follows up the previously released “Vilified” and “Afterglow” — features guest appearances by Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, and it arrived accompanied by a striking, black-and-red visualized video.

“There’s a confidence to this album,” Cantrell commented. “I think it’s some of my best writing and playing and certainly some of my best singing. There are large chunks of this record where I felt like my face was pressed to the ceiling of my abilities, operating at the top of my capacity.”
In addition to McKagan and Bordin, Cantrell’s star-studded fourth solo LP boasts contributions from Metallica’s Rob Trujillo, Better Lovers’ Greg Puciato and more. The grunge icon will announce a North American tour shortly. Ahead of that, Cantrell plays a sold-out, one-off show at Pappy & Harriet’s on the eve of the album’s release, followed by a brief South American tour, including a stop at Fauna Primavera.
