Despite the recent departure of I Prevail’s longtime cleans vocalist, Brian Burkheiser, the veteran post-hardcore act are still grinding out there — prevailing, if you will. For proof, the band have just unleashed a monstrous beater of epic proportions with screamer Eric Vanlerberghe standing at the fore. The track arrives under the fittingly all-capped title of “VIOLENT NATURE.”
While I Prevail teamed up with Halestorm and All Time Low on a pair of singles in 2024, “VIOLENT NATURE” marks their first proper tune since 2023 LP True Power.
The track shotguns right into a mix of concrete-cracking rhythms, djent-splattered riffage and glass-chewing cries from Vanlerberghe — though they do take a beat for a briefly ominous, ambient synth section.
With respect to Vanlerberghe, he’s fully unhinged, describing himself as neither saint nor saviour with his heavy howl. He also suggests someone eat a stack of rusty razors, and reiterates with snarling menace that he’s the kind of guy that will “bite the hand that feeds just to watch it bleed.”
In a statement, Vanlerberghe described the new track as such: “Aggressive, fast, and heavy. All packed into 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Turn it up and put your head through the fucking wall.”

As previously reported, I Prevail’s current lineup finds Vanlerberghe tackling screams, while guitarist Dylan Bowman now covers melodic vocals.
I Prevail are set to take off on the inaugural Summer of Loud tour. The band will act as rotating headliners alongside Beartooth, Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive. The tour begins June 21st at West Palm Beach, Florida’s iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre.
