Veteran heavy rockers Fight the Fade have been issuing a steady stream of singles throughout 2024 in the lead up to their next album, Isolationist. While the record arrives in full this Friday (October 18th), the Midwest outfit have unveiled one last pre-release taste in the form of the bombastic but melody-spiked “Revolution.”
The song fires up quick into scorching guitar pull-offs and driving drum damage, while it later ushers in nu-adjacent melodies, lean-fracked moshes and a guitar solo that intentionally glitches-out like a scratched-as-fuck PS1 game. Lyrically, the band’s sung-and-screamed lines call for massive change in the face of social and systemic stagnation (“Let the old world burn”).
“‘Revolution’ is a fight song,” Fight the Fade’s Zene Smith explained in a statement, adding: “The heart of any revolution is to fight for what you believe in, and that is who I think we all want to be. Someone who fights for the things we love, and the things we believe.”
Isolationist follows Fight the Fade’s 2022 full-length, APOPHYSITIS. Their latest album title reflects how the outfit “basically locked ourselves in a room, and threw a lot of ideas around” to create the release. Isolationist is due out October 18th via FiXT.
