Sludge-heavy “fairy-doom” trio Faetooth are looking to lure us back into their mystifying, metallic maze. Fittingly enough, the group have just confirmed a sophomore LP titled Labyrinthine is on the way, and they’re previewing it ahead of time with a slow-stomping crusher called “White Noise.”
The track, a seismically rumbled six-minute epic, is the band’s second new tune of 2025, following their “Death of Day” — and both songs will feature on Labyrinthine.
It’s explained in a press release that the sometimes low-sung, sometimes shrieked lyricism on “White Noise” was pulled “from a diary entry, and is a relentless and intense reflection on inner turmoil.” Guitarist Ari May added that “performing the song always takes [her] back to a specific place, even if just for a moment.”

As for Labyrinthine, the band’s second album follows 2022’s Remnants of the Vessel. The new album is said to retain the sludge-and-doom driven sounds of their debut LP, though it likewise finds the act “embracing a newly softened, more intimate tone.” Lyrically, the record is primed to explore “loss, self-pity [and] personal relationships.”
Labyrinthine will be released digitally by AWAL on September 5th, as well as on CD and LP via Flenser. An exclusive variant on Cloudy Effect-tinted wax, limited to 200 copies, is currently up for pre-order in Revolver’s shop.
