While Deftones and Limp Bizkit-boosted solo artist Ecca Vandal bounded into countless playlists last year with a punky pair of singles, the multi-genre-exploring Melburnian is burning hot with dark, danceable hybridism on her latest pop-and-rap-surging single, “BLEACH.”
The song, Vandal’s first of 2026, is technically micro-spiked with a few bursts of guitar and comes punctured with a couple of intense screams, but primarily leans into all-twitch drum production and cavernous bass booms. Vandal’s quick-tongued flow follows the beat with lines about escaping boredom to do your own thing. There might be a Ludacris flip with the “get out the way” section in the second verse.
“‘BLEACH’ is the moment you shed the version of yourself moulded by fear,” Vandal added in a statement. “It’s brutal, honest, messy, and necessary — letting the old stuff go to make room for something new.”
The song also arrives in a color-saturated video self-stylized and directed by Vandal, which has her slow-dancing in a mirror-plated room, vibing by a scarlet stairwell and coolin’ in a coffin near a bunch of slender, sartorial Cousin Its. You’ll find the vibrant visual melee up above.
Ecca Vandal will be dropping by both weekends of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this April, and will then be touring Australia and New Zealand with Deftones — she’d appeared at the alt-metal band’s Dia De Los Deftones festival in San Diego, California, last fall.
“BLEACH,” along with semi-recent single drops “MOLLY,” “CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE,” “BLEED BUT NEVER DIE” and “THEN THERE’S ONE,” teases a forthcoming full-length from Ecca Vandal, which will be her first album since a 2017 self-titled record.
