Wargasm are in a collaborative mood. Over the past year, the U.K. electro-punk duo have joined forces with everyone from Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst to Bad Omens, Ho99o9 and Crossfaith. Today (July 12th), Sam Matlock and Milkie Way have offered up their latest collab — and it’s a big one, featuring the man, the myth, the legend Corey Taylor of Slipknot.
The song is called “70% Dead,” and it’s a rave-metal banger that brings to mind the Prodigy and Atari Teenage Riot. Crank it above via YouTube.
Ahead of the single’s release, Wargasm teased “70% Dead” with the audio of a voice message in which Way suggests to Matlock: “Why don’t you call that guy you really like? The shouty guy?”
It wasn’t a completely outlandish idea: Wargasm have some history with that “shouty guy” having toured with Taylor in 2023 on his summer trek in support of his second solo album, that year’s CMF2. The “70% Dead” collab grew out of the friendship forged on that tour.
Wargasm commented of the song: “We were on the road in the USA with Corey — Sam ended up jumping on a mic with him during his set and we just felt like the voices sounded right together. It totally made sense to do something fresh with the three of us and, well… you don’t ask you don’t get.”
