Ded have livened things up with a new, fast-and-furious single titled “Until I Die,” which features guest vocals from Motionless in White frontman Chris Motionless.
The new song steers the Arizona quartet away from the nu-leaning direction of previous single “Rockstar,” with the band now thrashing hard into a bpm-pushing tempo and speed-blitzed guitar work — including a demonically tapped-and-squealed micro solo from six-stringer Alex Adamcik.
Above all this, vocalist Joe Cotela unloads on a loathsome piece of scum that had apparently done him wrong. Assisted by backup vocals from Motionless, Ded’s frontman is hellbent for vengeance (“I wanna see you sweat and feel some shit”).
“‘Until I Die’ is a statement about drawing a line for my life,” Cotela explains in a statement. “It’s me separating myself from the bullshit. It’s my mission statement to do everything in my power to be the change that I want to see in the world while I am here.”
Cotela added of Motionless’ aural co-sign: “He’s true blue just a great human which made him perfect to be on this song. He murdered his parts on this and added a ferocity that only he could have done.”
