Though Cavalera Conspiracy are currently out causing Chaos on their fall North American tour, the long-running metal family band are also stirring up a ruckus in gaming circles. That’s because the act have just delivered a new, Street Fighter-themed battle anthem for the franchise’s big Russian bad-ass, Zangief.
A new tune inspired by the Red Cyclone has been given the title of “Piledriver,” this referring to the utterly head-smashing wrestling move the animated grappler puts onto his opponents. As for the track, the band similarly batter the dome with deep divebombs, roto-rumbling drum fills and vocalist-guitarist Max Cavalera’s play-by-play around contestants that “live to fight with the cruel intent.”
The song arrives to promote Street Fighter 6, and specifically the Zangief character’s new, steel-infused Mech Zangie-F character skin. Per a press release, gamers can potentially “build a mountain of consecutive victories with this ultimate, adrenaline-pumping, body-moving track!”

As previously reported, the Cavaleras are currently mounting a U.S. tour that finds the Sepultura founders performing 1993’s monumental Chaos A.D. album in full.
