After sending out a goat’d trailer right at the top of the year, rock-and-metalcore mainstays Black Veil Brides have now delivered their first single of 2026: “Certainty.”
The new song previews a forthcoming, to-be-detailed full-length release, and delivers metallic chromaticism and incandescent chorus hooks, all while vocalist Andy Biersack explores a plethora of melodious cries and barbaric screams. The singer explains that its lyrics of “fear and pride” were inspired by 2024 thriller Conclave, “particularly its reflections on religious certainty and how rigid belief systems can become prisons of our own making.”
“The concept of ‘Certainty’ is central to this [upcoming] record and appears throughout the album,” Biersack explained in a statement. “When certainty hardens, curiosity, growth, and the willingness to change become impossible. Much of today’s political and social discourse exists inside these echo chambers of absolute belief, and that tension drives the narrative of this record.”
Directed by George Gallardo Kattah, the music video was filmed in Bogotá, Colombia, and it contrasts footage of Black Veil Brides bashing out the song in an opulent castle with a brutally combative battle between two brothers. The previously previewed goat shows up for good measure.
Details are forthcoming, but Black Veil Brides’ seventh album — the follow-up to 2021’s The Phantom of Tomorrow — is set to be released later this year via Spinefarm.
