Back in February, Black Label Society went full-berzerker with their Mad Max-themed “Lord Humungus.” Now, the beloved doom crew have returned to wreck us with another massively stony single: “Broken and Blind.”
Zakk Wylde and Co.’s latest tune was premiered earlier this week via SiriusXM, but is now available on major DSP’s and via a new music video directed by longtime visual collaborator Justin Reich.
After drumming up a sick, cowbell-laden drum intro, BLS properly get the groove going with a Southern-sludge-stained set of riffs and soul-scarred yowls from Wylde — a broken man making an exodus from this world of ours, with hopes of finding peace of mind.
“The song is about peanut butter and chocolate and what happens when you don’t have any of it,” Wylde joked in a statement, adding of this sticky situation, “My soul is broken and I’m blind with rage if I don’t have any peanut butter and chocolate, so there you go, it’s a new song called ‘Broken and Blind.’ Thank you, have a great day.”
BLS’ latest single is streaming now via MNRK Heavy/Spinefarm Records, and precedes an impending album expected to arrive sometime early in 2026. The as-yet untitled project will be the band’s first full-length since 2022’s Doom Crew Inc.
As previously reported, it was recently announced that Black Label Society will be heading to next year’s Sonic Temple Festival in Columbus, Ohio. The event runs May 14th-17th, and the bill likewise features My Chemical Romance, Stone Temple Pilots, Lorna Shore and many, many more.
In related news, Wylde’s Zakk Sabbath and fellow BLS guitarist Dario Lorina’s Dark Chapel projects are hitting the road later this month. Their North American tour begins October 30th in Rancho Mirage, California. The full run of dates can be found here.
