Brooklyn hardcore lifers Biohazard are back.
Following some off-and-on teasing since reuniting their classic lineup in 2023, the long-running metallic hardcore band have just dropped their first song since 2012. The track is titled “Forsaken.”
As previously reported, the lineup of bassist-vocalist Evan Seinfeld, guitarist-vocalist Billy Graziadei, guitarist Bobby Hambel and drummer Danny Schuler linked up again back in 2023, and have been teasing a forthcoming full-length release, which will be the follow-up to 2012’s Reborn in Defiance.
With “Forsaken,” Biohazard quickly lock into fast-thwacked beats and tough-as-nails NYHC riffs, while Seinfeld and Graziadei scream hard about the trials of life (“Screaming at the top of my lungs…I can’t take no more of this pain”).
Hambel hits a wah-scorched solo before a creepy crawl breakdown asks us to “step to the rhythm of the Brooklyn beat.” You’ll find a performance-style music video up above.
“We shot this video in Amsterdam, at Melkweg, an iconic venue where Biohazard first made our bones in Europe back in the late ’80s and ‘90s,” Seinfeld explained in a statement.
He adds: “It’s really organic, and a little sample of the energy of our first new album in 15 years, performed in a live setting. Make sure you’re strapped in and prepare for some real mayhem when our new album drops!”
Outside of Graziadei adding in a statement that it’ll be a “louder and harder than ever,” details around the next Biohazard album are slim. That said, the full-length — as with the newly released “Forsaken” single — arrives through the BLKIIBLK imprint.
