After formally announcing his KINDA HARD album earlier in the week, genre-wrangling hog-handler Bilmuri has now offered up the third official taste of the LP — which, somewhat confusingly, has been dubbed “TWICE.”
The single arrived following some teasing on IG, which had Bilmuri donning the same kind of armor he flexed in his recent “HARD2TELL” video (that earlier song is now confirmed to be a part of KINDA HARD, along with last year’s “MORE THAN HATE”).
Today (February 6th), “TWICE” dropped on streamers, and likewise within a lyric visualizer that finds the warrior-like Bilmuri crouching on a frozen suburban tundra before of a pyre.
The song, meanwhile, begins with a metal-swung intro, but eventually torches it up with elements of pop, replete with smooth-and-sexy Eighties sax blasting. Lyrically, the cut finds the artist otherwise known as Johnny Franck reflecting on toxic interpersonal dynamics (“You should be dead to me”), yet sometimes he can’t help but keep drinkin’ the poison.
The 13-song KINDA HARD was produced by Bilmuri. Press materials describe the collection, his first full-length since 2024 breakthrough AMERICAN MOTOR SPORTS, as “the musical equivalent of a protein shake, blending a hearty helping of alternative rock, the right amount of metal, a dash of country twang, and whatever-else-is-in-the fridge at high speed.”
The album sees release April 4th via Columbia Records, though you can pre-order KINDA HARD on clear vinyl and on CD in Revolver’s Shop.
