Hear BEHEMOTH’s profanely raging extreme-metal song “The S**t Ov God”

You ready for the real shit? Veteran extreme-metal masters Behemoth have officially announced their next profane era by delivering a slithery music video for the title track from their upcoming album, the explosively-named The Shit Ov God.

Behemoth have been hinting at “The Shit Ov God” on socials over the past few weeks, from noise-scaped album teasers, to bodily-fluid-spewing video clips, to some goofy behind-the-scenes shenanigans at the video shoot.

Now, the extreme metal legends have unveiled the hard-trilled, heavy-bellowed and hella-blaspheming cut (“Eat my flesh. Drink my blood. I am the shit ov God.”) through a classically-beautiful but also extremely fetid video full of marble statues, gore and more.

A press release notes that Behemoth’s 13th album, which follows 2022’s Opvs Contra Natvram, stands as “its most inflammatory and extreme record to date,” with vocalist-guitarist Nergal using the album to explore “the fathoms of humanity, divinity, and what defiance means in an age where individuality is prized but everyone is clinging to their saviors.”

“I’ve reached a point in Behemoth’s journey and my own creativity where words and statements mean less and less,” he explains. “The true essence of who we are and what we stand for lies in our music, our art, our visuals, our sounds, our performances, and the ways we connect with you. I deeply believe Behemoth represents transcendent, timeless art.”

He adds: “If this were to be our final album, I could say I die a proud man. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the most refined, purest representation of Behemoth. No filler, no excess — just the very best we have to offer, handed to you.”

The Shit Ov God was produced by Jens Bogren of Fascination Street Studios (Emperor, Enslaved). The album is out May 9th via Nuclear Blast Records, and is up for pre-order over here.
