Beartooth are extending the good vibes of their current The Surface era by delivering a deluxe edition of the album. One of the highlights is a brand new, positive-minded, self-empowerment pop-rock track called “ATTN.”
It’s explained in a press release that the new song in part came out of bandleader Caleb Shomo’s reflections on Beartooth’s The Surface tour cycle. As such, it’s a meta-musical number reflecting how the band “put the work in all year long,” and came out with peace of mind. It’s also about the risk/reward ratio of evolving as people while dropping “new chords” into your songs, as well as the power of self-belief.
“I think self-love has led to a deeper understanding of my value as a person, to myself and to others,” Shomo said in a statement. “I will always be proud of my art, and I will always be proud of the work that I’ve put in to say what matters to me. I think that’s a great lesson for anybody to take in their own work and their own life.”

The Surface (Deluxe Edition) is streaming in full as of today (September 20th), and likewise packages the original LP with live cuts and remixes.
