Hear AVENGED SEVENFOLD cover MISFITS’ “Some Kind of Hate”

Members of Avenged Sevenfold have slicked their Devilocks per seasonal tradition and served up another Misfits cover. For Halloween 2025, they’ve leaned into a fuzzed-up revamp of Static Age-era classic “Some Kind of Hate.”

News of the cover dropper earlier this week, with the punky tribute having apparently initially appeared as an exclusive single for A7X’s Deathbats Club — and, per Common Revolt, available only to fans who had bought one of the band’s NFT’s.

The artwork that had initially surfaced online had noted that the track was a collaboration between Avenged Sevenfold and My Chemical Romance/L.S. Dunes guitarist Frank Iero.

Curiously, a non-paywalled version has now appeared on A7X’s official YouTube channel, but Iero’s name is no longer credited. An Instagram post of theirs to promote the track tags Avenged guitarist Zacky Vengeance, bassist Johnny Christ and drummer Brooks Wackerman.

It’s presently unclear if the aforementioned Iero-involved version is only available to members of the Deathbats Club, or if it’s the same version that was just uploaded to YouTube. Either way, the group wrote in a joint statement: “In keeping with the spirit of the season, this year’s offering of ‘Some Kinda Hate’ is available to all to… enjoy.”

As for the song, it’s a faithfully performed version of the ghoulishly maggot-eyed, late Seventies torch song. You can check it out up above.

As previously reported, A7X have spent the last several Halloween seasons dropping Misfits covers, including “Halloween,” “Skulls,” and “Astro Zombies.”
