Seems like Halsey manifested a next-level collab following her recent Evanescence cosplay, as the pop singer has partnered up with the one and only Amy Lee for a new collaborative track they call “Hand That Feeds.” The song was notably produced by Bring Me the Horizon alum Jordan Fish.
The two vocalists tag-teamed the single for the soundtrack to upcoming action flick Ballerina — a John Wick-adjacent movie starring Ana de Armas as the titular, graceful-footed assassin.
While Halsey had previously slipped on a raven-black wig and an eyebrow piercing in tribute to Lee’s look on Evanescence’s iconic Fallen album cover, the pop singer isn’t just parroting the feel and flow of the “OG dark rock queen” on their collab. You can hear how Halsey and Lee dance through the track together via the player up above.
“I’ve been a fan of Amy Lee since I was 11 years old,” Halsey wrote on social media. “Her and Evanescence created a window for me that allowed my feelings to seem important. They were the place I ran to when I couldn’t stand the outside world. I wouldn’t be the artist I am today without them. Getting to create alongside her on ‘HAND THAT FEEDS’ is one of the most surreal moments of my life. I’ll carry this forever!”
Halsey delivered her The Great Impersonator album late last year, while Evanescence recently hit the soundtrack circuit themselves with their recent “Afterlife” single for Netflix’s Devil May Cry anime series. “Hand That Feeds” is out on streaming platforms now, while Ballerina arrives in theaters June 6th.
