Heavy vocal phenom Greg Puciato is taking a beat from being a Better Lover to reunite his electronic project the Black Queen for a tenth anniversary tour celebrating their debut LP, 2016’s Fever Daydream.
A 15-show club tour was announced today (February 17th), with these dates being the Black Queen’s first live appearances since 2019. The shows reunite Puciato with co-founder and former Nine Inch Nails/Dillinger Escape Plan tour tech Steven Ryan Alexander.
The trip begins May 8th at Portland, Oregon’s Star Theatre, then ducks south for a pair of California appearances, then heads northeast and up into Canada, and shoots back down for a June 6th tour-closer at Dallas, Texas’ AM/FM venue.
It’s noted in advance that the band will be performing Fever Daydream in full. They’ll also apparently be kicking into select songs from 2018’s Infinite Games, and may well be previewing tunes from an as-yet undetailed and in-the-works third LP.
“As anyone into The Black Queen knows, we’ve been dormant for a minute,” Puciato notes in a press release of his project’s return. “A lot of things ended up on the front burner and suddenly seven years had gone by, and 10 years since Fever Daydream’s release.”
He adds: “Fever Daydream was really special and we know it meant a lot to fans as well. So, we figured let’s get some grease on us and get some of that mojo back before releasing our third album. Maybe we’ll toss some new songs in as well.”
A pre-sale for folks signed up to the Black Queen’s mailing list begins this Thursday (February 19th), while tickets are up for grabs to the general public the following day (February 20th). More info on how to nab pre-sale codes can be found on the Black Queen’s website.
