From GHOST to GWAR: 10 great shows to watch on VEEPS

Bad Omens’ bombastic headlining set from the 2024 Mayhem Festival at San Bernardino, California’s Glen Helen Amphiteater puts everything we love about the long-running metalcore expansionists on display: deep brooding melodies, viciously concrete-cracking breakdowns, and the dynamic range of vocalist Noah Sebastian either softly crooning or going for the throat with a furious scream.

The show mostly centers on the group’s breakthrough THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND album — and why wouldn’t it? — but it also finds Bad Omens smashing through early standouts (2015’s “Glass Houses”) and live premieres (CONCRETE JUNGLE [THE OST]’s “ANYTHING > HUMAN”).

A night of fire, brimstone and blackened metal extremity, The Unholy Trinity captures the legendary Behemoth performing their biggest headline date ever to a packed house at Wrocław, Poland’s famed Hala Stulecia.

Pulling from all over their 30-year catalog — and filmed with an up-close, multi-camera intimacy that lets you smell the veritable “Shit ov God” — the intense in-concert experience finds founder Adam Nergal Darski and the rest of the band putting on a damned entertaining display.  

Few live settings are as lush and majestic as the towering great oak stage at London’s Hyde Park — that natural scenery perfectly augmenting this outright staggering, force-of-nature performance from the Cure.

From Simon Gallup rippling right into the romantic bass tones for the opening “Plainsong,” to an epic and shadowy extended jam on post-punk favorite “The Forest,” to Robert Smith inspiring a crowd of thousands to sing and dance to “Just Like Heaven,” this 2018 performance plays just like a dream.

A candid and aurally crushing mini-documentary filmed during blackgaze specialists Deafheaven’s fall 2025 tour — which found them hitting off-the-beaten-path venues across the quieter corners of America — The Vast Sterling Purple is less a concert film than it is a curiously contemplative, gorgeously shot black-and-white travelogue of a band trying to make sense of the chaos and beauty surrounding them and their fans.

The film contrasts stark, outdoor visuals with jam-packed live footage, and likewise between the way vocalist George Clarke will tenderly croon Herb Alpert songs for his bandmates backstage before screeching out their “Body Behavior” onstage.

Filmed at the Grand Theater in Mashantucket, Connecticut, this 2017 performance exquisitely reimagines Evanescence’s iconic nu-rock songbook with the elegance of a full-blown local symphony. While brought to life anew through bold brass-and-string arrangements, the Synthesis show also reconfirms what an emotive powerhouse frontwoman and bandleader Amy Lee is.

It’s different, but Syntheis Live is essential watching for any Evanescence fan.

Ghost’s 2023 concert film captures the band at a unique time — with their now-iconic performance at Inglewood, California’s Kia Forum standing as the last official concert to feature frontman Papa Emeritus IV at the mic. Given the circumstances, he gives it his all, propelling himself and the rest of the occult-metal ghouls through a killer setlist of pop-banging fan favorites (“Mary on a Cross,” “Square Hammer”), as they stride across an exquisitely gothic stage setup.

The hybrid movie also includes feverish animation scenes and ventures deep into Ghost lore, giving fans a dramatic behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the band as a major shake-up takes place within the Congregation. A wildly inspired concert film like no other, available to stream rite there on VEEPS.

Set within the bowels of Pelham, Tennessee’s literally subterranean Caverns venue, this raucous 2025 concert finds the legendarily shock-rocking Scumdogs celebrating 40 years of “filth, fury, and fluid” the only way they know how — with riffs blazing and the stageblood gushing.

Though they’re streaming in full gory glory,  this is a rare occasion where catching a GWAR concert doesn’t necessitate an immediate shower afterwards.  

VEEPS premiered not one but two high-octane Megadeth sets from the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires.

Filmed in the spring of 2024 during the “Crush the World” tour, both sets find the Big 4 icons waging war onstage as they hit heavy highlights from across their mighty discography, from thrashing deep cuts to essential anthems like “Sweating Bullets” and “Symphony of Destruction.”

Metalcore and alt-pop provocateur Poppy explored the Negative Spaces of her experimental catalog at this packed fall 2025 show at Anaheim’s House of Blues.

Recorded during the second leg of her acclaimed “They’re All Around Us” tour, the set has Poppy and her band launching into big-scream breakdowns (“the cost of giving up”) and spangling synth-pop (“crystallized”), and gives fans an early taste of next year’s Empty Hands LP with a performance of its battering “Bruised Sky.”

Filmed in 2015 for Knotfest Mexico during Slipknot’s .5: The Gray Chapter-era, Day of the Gusano finds the Iowa Nine absolutely hammering the Mexican crowd with some of their biggest hits to that point. Masked-up and ready to attack, they hit the maggots with a bit of melody (“Wait and Bleed”), while likewise delivering a full-on bludgeoning through classic ragers “The Heretic Anthem,” “People = Shit” and more.

Initially given a theatrical release, Day of the Gusano is ready to stream at home through VEEPS.
