Guitar hero and onetime Ozzy Osbourne shredder Jake E. Lee is recovering in a Las Vegas, Nevada, hospital room after being shot multiple times this morning (October 15th) in an apparent incident of random street violence.
A statement confirming the shocking news was released through Lee’s management, which confirmed that the guitarist was shot multiple times while out walking his dog this morning. He was taken to a local hospital and is currently “fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care.” He’s expected to make a full recovery.
The statement further notes that Las Vegas authorities believe this was a random act of violence. With police investigations ongoing, no further information is being revealed at this time. Likewise, Lee’s family has requested that fans respect their privacy as the musician recovers.
Lee famously served as Ozzy Osbourne’s lead guitarist between 1982 and 1987, cutting classic albums Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin alongside the Prince of Darkness. Lee has also performed with the Ray Gillen-fronted metal unit Badlands, and most recently with his own Jake E. Lee’s Red Dragon Cartel.
