Birmingham, Alabama metalcore outfit ERRA are entering a brand new era, having just delivered the booming single “further eden” and announced their next album, silence outlives the earth.
The track arrived on streamers and YouTube today (January 29th), and is full of synth-glossed melodies and breakbeats, but likewise concrete-smashing breakdowns and tense, effects-explosive guitar riffs.
Lyrically, it seems to touch on cynicism, ennui, the threat of losing oneself in “the abyss” and the hope of keeping things steady when facing the chaos (“Through the panic I find my peace”).
“’further eden’ was a song that [guitarist] Clint [Tuslin] started and we built upon in the studio,” guitarist Jesse Cash explains in a statement. “The pentatonic leaning roots the song into a lighter energy than we typically employ, and the song feels like a fresh form of expression from the band. We were specific about wanting the music video and accompanying visuals to reflect that lightness.”

silence outlives the earth follows 2024’s Cure LP and is said to concern “existence and the human condition.” The album also features the band’s 2025 singles “gore of being” and “echo sonata.” That’d be the cover art and tracklisting down below. Erra are launching a North American tour with Connecticut metalcore unit Currents in March — Caskets and Aviana will be the support acts. The six-week trek begins March 6th in Baltimore, Maryland, and you can find the full schedule beneath the album info.
