Drowning Pool had a massive year in 2025, with Carrie Underwood joining American Idol hopeful Insite to perform their classic “Bodies” in March, and then in the fall Offset sampling that iconic anthem for a hit single of the same name, culminating in the band joining the rapper on The Tonight Show. Now, the metal veterans are back with their first new music of 2026, a collaboration with rising rock artist Sorry X titled “THE WRONG ONE,” the music video to which Revolver is premiering right here right now.

The team-up was sparked after Drowning Pool came across Sorry X’s ferocious rendition of “Bodies” online (see below), and contrary to its title, the song perfectly melds the band’s punchy groove metal with the singer’s genre-defying, alt-pop-inflected sound.
“We stumbled on Sorry X’s cover of ‘Bodies’ and were impressed by the sheer brutality of her vocals,” Drowning Pool guitarist CJ Pierce tells Revolver. “On top of that Alexa sings amazing. We knew we had to collaborate on something so we reached out.”
Sorry X adds: “I’m a huge fan of Drowning Pool and I grew up listening to the 2000s nu-metal era, so I was stoked when they reached out to me. I’m really proud of how this track came together and I hope fans will feel the intensity and raw energy of this collaboration.”
