Following an extended hiatus, Denver, Colorado, post-hardcore group Drop Dead, Gorgeous are back with their first single in 15 years, “Six Feet.” And they’ve teamed-up with Revolver to premiere the high-energy tune through a blood-soaked, sword-swinging music video.
The song marks the first piece of new music from the band since their The Hot N’ Heavy LP from 2009, and likewise since the passing of former lead guitarist Kyle Browning in 2021.
“Six Feet” picks up where they’d left off via tight-and-crunchy emo hooks, chunky-but-poppy breakdowns and a mix of melodic vocalizations and full-throated screams from lead singer Daniel Stillman. The single was produced alongside Elliot Polokoff and mastered by longtime Drop Dead, Gorgeous collaborator Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping With Sirens, Get Scared).
“It’s been over 15 years, and ‘Six Feet’ felt like the right way to come back — intense, honest and unapologetic,” the band commented in a joint statement. “We’re not trying to recreate the past, just push things forward in a way that still feels true to who we are.”
The track arrives packaged in a revenge-themed music video, with its blood-dripping action playing out in reverse. Full of sword stabbings, Mean Girl activity and social media toxicity, you’ll find the Raul Rosco Guerrero-directed clip up above.
Drop Dead, Gorgeous’ comeback single is likewise a full circle moment for the band, as it reteams them with management company/label The Artery Foundation, who had represented DDG during their intial run
