CRADLE OF FILTH, DYING FETUS and more bring Chaos & Carnage to NYC: See photos

Chaos reigned in New York City last night (May 1st) when Chaos & Carnage, the spring’s premiere extreme-metal festival, rolled into town for a seven-band wrecker co-headlined by Dying Fetus and Cradle of Filth.

The heavy extravaganza took place at Palladium Times Square and began with sets from Maggot Stompers Corpse Pile, Connecticut extremists Vomit Forth, homestate OSDM fiends Undeath, Aussie prog-metal unit Ne Obliviscaris and Italian symphonic death-metal force Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Cradle of Filth then mounted the stage for an eight-song set that found Dani Filth and Co. hitting two cuts from their recently-released The Screaming of the Valkyries (“Malignant Perfection,” “To Live Deliciously”), as well as sick oldies from Midian, Cruelty and the Beast and more.

Dying Fetus closed things out with an 11-song assortment of hyper-brutal sonic grotesquerie pulling from all eras of their impossibly heavy catalog.

Photographer Kevin Wilson was there in the flesh to capture the carnage  — check out some of his standout shots below.
