While Coheed and Cambria are apparently gearing up to explore the cosmos again for a future album release, the sci-fi-flavored prog-core unit have announced they’ve also got their sights set on the high seas. In other words, another of the band’s SS Neverender cruises has been booked for 2025, and they’re bringing along friends including Thursday and punk supergroup L.S. Dunes.
Coheed announced their third SS Neverender boat cruise today (October 15th), and they’ve officially dubbed this one “Good Apollo, We’re Boating to Cozumel: MMXXV,” in reference to both the band’s two-volume Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star albums and the eventual Cozumel, Mexico, destination. The five-day voyage sets sail from Miami, Florida, on November 8th, and the cruise will find the headliners performing two “unique” sets along the way: one from a pool deck, and another from the vessel’s more intimate Stardust Theatre.
The cruise will likewise host sets from the aforementioned Thursday and L.S. Dunes, along with the Dear Hunter, Hail the Sun, Illuminati Hotties, Meet Me @ the Altar, the Fall of Troy, Puddles Pity Party, Pool Kids, Zulu, Kaonashi, the Callous Daoboys and Codeseven. Even more bands will be announced in the coming months.
On top of the music, the next SS Neverender will also feature Q&A sessions with Coheed bandmembers, some of which touching on the act’s long-running, multimedia Amory Wars storyline.
Pre-sales for the cruise are already up, and run until October 23rd at 11:59 p.m. ET over here. Folks who sign up for pre-sale will be able to take a photo with Coheed and Cambria during the cruise.
In other news, Coheed recently unveiled a new big baddie into their ongoing musical saga, via the hard rockin’ “Bind Side Sonny” single. When the song dropped earlier this month, it was explained that this was “the first taste of the band’s next full body of work.” Coheed’s previous album was 2022’s Vaxis Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind.
